On January 26, 2026, AUT Science & Technology Park held a specialized evaluation and pitching session for teams applying to join the Park. The event took place at the Ibn Sina Building and focused on two key sectors: medical devices and electrical & electronics engineering.

A total of 25 innovative teams, spanning pre-incubation, incubation, and growth stages, presented their ideas and achievements to qualify for entry into the Park’s innovation ecosystem. The projects were rigorously reviewed by a panel of judges including Park executives, AUT faculty members, and leading figures from Iran’s startup and business ecosystem.

During the event, Dr. Malek Naderi, President of the AUT Science & Technology Park, emphasized a critical point in the journey from innovation to commercialization. He warned against falling into the “technology trap,” noting that excessive focus on technical excellence without understanding real market needs can hinder sustainable business creation. According to him, successful startups are those that align technology development with customer insight, market demand, and economic value.
This evaluation session is part of an ongoing series aimed at identifying and attracting high-potential technology-driven teams across various fields. Similar review panels will continue in the coming days, with selected teams gaining access to the Park’s specialized support services, laboratories, and financial resources.
The event marked another step toward building a strong network of knowledge-based companies—companies that leverage local expertise to address real-world challenges and compete effectively in the technology market.
