On Sunday, January 25, AUT Science & Technology Park hosted a strategic roundtable session with a group of early-stage startups and pre-incubation companies at the Ibn Sina Building.

The meeting was held as part of the Park’s ongoing efforts to strengthen structured engagement with early-stage teams and to better leverage the scientific and technological capacity of the Park. Key discussion topics included the development of the university’s innovation ecosystem, the role of pre-incubation companies in value creation, the use of mentorship and experience from established knowledge-based firms, and the identification of research and technology priorities.

Participants also shared practical suggestions on improving collaboration mechanisms, facilitating stronger links with industry, and maximizing the Park’s support services for technology-driven projects. These inputs will be consolidated and used in shaping the Park’s future programs and decision-making processes.
Attendees emphasized the importance of synergy between knowledge, experience, and entrepreneurial motivation, as well as the need for effective frameworks to enable sustainable collaboration between the Science and Technology Park and early-stage startups. In the final session, Park officials addressed participants’ questions and outlined available pathways for strengthening university–industry connections.
The roundtable highlighted a shared vision: moving beyond a purely educational approach toward value creation and real-world impact, a critical step in advancing the knowledge-based economy and national technology development.
